Phase 3 of the Marvel film universe is coming to an end: Having started in 2016 with Captain America: Civil War, and comprising a total of 10 films, the phase will end with the release of the sequel to Avengers: Infinity War in 2019.

As we wait to see how Phase 3 ends, we bring you some leaked snippets about the Marvel Universe.

1 – Captain Marvel and the 90s

Captain Marvel will be set in the 90s as this is a period that has never been fully represented by MCU.

2 –  The Skrulls will finally be seen in Captain Marvel

We will meet the Skrulls, a race of aliens which first appeared in the original 1962 comics as enemies of the Fantastic 4. In addition to being as strong as two humans, these beings can transform themselves into any existing thing or person.

3 – Rumours on the title of Avengers 4

Numerous leaks have it that Avengers 4 will be called Infinity Guantlet.

4 – Only two announcements about Phase 4

The only Phase 4 films to have been announced are The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 and Spider-Man Homecoming 2. It appears no other announcements will be made until the end of Phase 3.

5 – The mystery of the Winter Soldier

Even though Bucky Barnes, also known as the Winter Soldier, is brought to Wakanda at the end of Captain America: Civil War, there is no trace of him in Black Panther. His absence remains a mystery.

6 – Marvel will be the end for many actors

Phase 3 also marks the end of an era for many historical Marvel Universe actors, as their contracts expire and their characters’ scenes are wrapped. This is the case for Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth: what will happen to Iron Man, Cap and Thor?

7 – Avengers: Infinity War is a film of records

In addition to its importance within the saga, Avengers: Infinity War stood out for its length. After Age of Ultron (142 minutes), The Avengers (143 minutes) and Captain America: Civil War (148 minutes), the third chapter dedicated to the avengers lasted over two and a half hours. Furthermore, as official sources testify, an important feature of this film is that it was the fourth film in history to have grossed more than two billion dollars.

8 – Stan Lee’s cameos

Stan Lee, director of Marvel Comics, made no less than five cameo appearances in the Phase 3 films. In addition to his appearances in both Avengers: Infinity War, reputed as his funniest cameos, Lee appeared in Ant Man and The Wasp (released in Italy on 15th August and in the USA at the beginning of July), Black Panther and Thor: Ragnarock.

9 – No spoilers in future

Marvel is working to ensure that no film spoilers are leaked in production. That’s why all scripts are produced in hard copy, nothing is sent via email, and all scripts are recalled after shooting ends.
