On December 16th Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was released. In the last article we told you about the presence of Darth Vader, but we surely did not forget about Stormtroopers, who are in every Star Wars movie.
Who are Stormtroopers and where do they come from?
Stormtroopers, or Imperial attackers, are highly specialized assault troops for the Galactic Empire. They are used for suppressing rebellions.
Stormtroopers, though, were not meant for the Empire. They are the direct descendants of Clone Troopers.

Clone Troopers (or “Clones”) were the most powerful military organization for the Republic during the Clone War. The creation of Clone Troopers was meant for the Republic to have a defensive army against the Empire. The chosen human for replicating his DNA was Jango Fett, a headhunter. Clone Troopers got from him loyalty and discipline, so that cloned soldiers would be reliable. Genetic treatment allowed them to grow at a double pace than any normal human being. At age 10 Clone Troopers were ready for fighting. There was one problem, though: clones were clones only because they discended only from one person. The other part of the story is that they took autonomous decisions and they acted with human behaviors.

After the elimination of the Jedi order and the destruction of the Temple, Clone Troopers ceased to be loyal to the Republic and became Stormtroopers: the new soldiers of the Galactic Empire. Jango Fett clones became part of the new military order together with new soldiers and new clones. The Empire chose to add some new ingredients: if a man between age 18 and 30 had a high score, he would have become as a model to be cloned. Men who did not reach score were anyway recruited as standard soldier.
Stormtroopers training was not only military, but also ideological. That is why they became so loyal to the Empire and dependent to the emperor. Stormtroopers were very reliable: they accepted any order, in any situation.
Are Stormtrooper human beings?
Some exceptions apart, it is not clear if Stormtroopers are complete robots or if they have any humanity in them. They are more similar to droids than to human beings, indeed. Maybe droids have a more defined personality than Stormtroopers.
This is why Stormtroopers are considered emotionless human beings. They only have a bad aim while shooting and they can only follow instructions.

Fascinated to these characters, Star Wars fans tried to humanize them. There are many ways in which fans gave Stormtroopers life including them in different stories and sketches.
At Star Wars Fan Film Awards, for example, last year a short film named TK-436: A Stormtrooper Story won. It told a war story in the Star Wars Universe from a different perspective, the one of a Stormtrooper.
In the short film directed by Samtubia & Samgoma Edwards there’s a brave soldier recruited as an Imperial Stormtrooper who leaves his planet and the woman who loves. In this short story the contrasting feelings in the Stormtrooper are explored, where he is forced to face his past.
A more fun version is the one by visual effects artist Nicholas Video. With his video Rogue One: a Star Wars Wrap Party he imagines a closing party after Rogue One shootings:
In the video realized by Golaem software the setting is the same as the movie, which is the island were Rogue One shootings took place. There are not fighting scenes, though: Stormtroopers and AT-ATs are madly dancing and twerking.
Another original interpretation is the one by Kristina Alexanderson, who realized some pictures where the main characters are two Stormtroopers models. Through the images, the artist tells some day-to-day stories of a father and a child on a really emotional photoshoot!
