CES – Consumer Electronic Show – is the most important consumer electronics fair in the world. It takes place every year at the beginning of January in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA: CES 2017 took place since January 5th to January 8th. Many brands and companies choose this venue to present their newest products and set the trends for technology in the new year. It was the case of this year as well, with brands such as Samsung and LG that presented new TVs, smartphones and wearables, and with companies such as Nvidia and Amazon that promised to revolutionize every tech product we use, thanks to artificial intelligence and vocal assistance.
CES 2017 is also the right venue where every kind of technology company may benefit for global visibility and present to the world their newest product lines. For the fifth time in a row Tribe participated at CES. Tribe was confirmed as a global leader in the design, manufacturing and distribution of licensed USB flash drives, and it now takes a step into audio and travel accessories, a few months after presenting the new lines Tribe Vibe and Tribe Move for the European market at IFA Berlin on September. But we’ll get to that later.
What were the most important technology trends at CES 2017? The core was not about new products, but mostly about confirmations of technology approaches: smart, connectivity and easiness of usage are everywhere. From cars to tablets, from laptops to home devices.
Vocal assistants will be everywhere
Smart home devices like Amazon Echo and Google Home are home smart speakers with the incorporation of vocal assistants. At CES 2017 it was clear that Amazon and Google wish to integrate their smart assistants with every gadget of one’s life. Alexa (Amazon’s vocal assistant) is to be pre-built in many products, such as speakers by other brands, lamps and cars. If not, Alexa will be the voice commander of these products.
The future of TVs: thinner and with HDR
After the global breakthrough of 4K video format in 2016, the future of TVs is supposed to be HDR: better pictures, wired range of colors, higher contrasts. It is an upgrade from 4K, and brands such as LG are already incorporating these changes into new products. Also, these TVs are thinner than ever. Samsung and LG have presented televisions that look like artworks hanging over the wall. LG’s W7 even has a sound bar levitating beneath the TV.
Prepare for a technology-based 2017
In 2017 technology is everywhere. Technology softly touches every day of our life and every object we use. Technology is there to entertain us. What if technology products were entertaining themselves? That’s what Tribe tried to present at CES 2017 with new Tribe Vibe and Tribe Move products. With a year to come when new important Marvel movies are coming to theaters, like The Guardians of the Galaxy, Spider Man Homecoming and Thor: Ragnarok, together with DC Comics Wonder Woman and HBO’s Game of Thrones Season 7, Tribe will be in first line with tech accessories offers about these licenses.
