We’re only a few months into the year, but there have already been some huge successes in the videogame world. Gamers have tried and reviewed numerous video games and, the majority of the time, the most beloved ones are found to be sequels to famous sagas. Some of these are almost legendary, since behind them is not only a great story, but also positive sales results that have been going on for years. This year there are some interesting releases, but now we’re going to take a better look at the best videogames of 2017 so far.
#1 Yakuza 0
It’s an action game developed for Playstation 3 and 4. It was actually first released in 2015, but only came to be released in our country in January of this year. Yakuza 0 is the prequel of the saga of the same name released for the first time in Europe in 2006. As fans would already know, it tells stories of protagonist Kazuma Kiryu and his friend Majima Goro, who are facing the Japanese assault. This video game can be played in single player or multiplayer mode.
#2 Resident Evil 7: Biohazard
This is also another video game belonging to a famous saga, Resident Evil, which has sold around 77 million copies since 1996. Resident Evil 7 is the eleventh chapter of the saga, which stars Ethan Winters as the protagonist, a hard-working man who faces great challenges after receiving a video from the wife he believed to be dead for a long time. From this moment on he will face a very difficult journey, with his sole purpose being to bring his beloved home. Videogame of the survival horror genre, available for Playstation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows devices.
#3 Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King
A roleplay videogame from the Dragon Quest saga, which is still considered to be the most notable and important Japanese Role-Playing Game (J-RPG) today. In this video game, each player can interpret a hero whose name is chosen by the gamer himself, and together with other adventure companions he will have to face battles, missions, and more. It’s a long-lasting fantasy theme game, which takes 100 hours to complete. Dragon Quest VIII is available for Playstation 2, Nintendo 3DS, and iOs and Android operating systems.
#4 Gravity Rush 2
In the list of the best video games of 2017 so far, we find another role-playing game: Gravity Rush 2. It’s the sequel to Gravity Rush, a videogame released in Europe in 2012. As in the first chapter, the sole purpose of the player is being able to maneuver gravity. In this way he can allow his character to experience unique explorations of his kind. The game develops in the floating city of Hekseville, where the gravitational princess Kat will find herself investigating some strange disorders occurring in gravity. Gravity Rush 2 was developed exclusively for Playstation 4.
#5 Star Wars Battlefront II
During the Star Wars Celebration (of which we’ve talked about recently), the new videogame dedicated to the famous saga, called Star Wars Battlefront II, was introduced. The release is scheduled for November 17th 2017 and will be available for Playstation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC. Star Wars Battlefront II will allow players to be part of the Imperial Army, which, together with the Stormtrooper Corps, is the Earth’s attack and defense force of the Empire. The Stormtroopers are also among the protagonists of Tribe’s tech gadgets! Power banks, earbuds, trunks and USB flash drives take on the features of the Imperial Soldiers.
#6 Injustice 2
It’s a videogame of the fighting genre (game where enemies are confronted in various kinds of fight matches) where the characters of the DC Comics world face each other in one-on-one combat. It’s the sequel to Injustice: Gods Among Us and was released on May 18th this year. In this videogame we find so many characters from the DC Universe, such as Superman, Flash and Joker.
